The village of Unkenbach in the Donnersberg area will host this year’s family event “Moscheltal Adventure Tour” from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Unkenbach and other communities located in the Moscheltal valley will offer a diversified entertaining program, including former craftsmanship presentations, exhibitions, musical performances and children’s activities.

The official opening features a worship service with presentations by local elementary school students and the choir Con Brio at 10 a.m. in the church. The church will then stay open for sightseeing until noon. From 2 to 3 p.m., it will open again and offer an organ concert.

More than 70 vendors, craftsmen and caterers will present their offers and specialties throughout the village. Craftsmen such as turners, blacksmiths, beekeepers, brush makers, basket makers, stonemasons and goldsmiths will demonstrate how they work. Visitors can find craft items, jewelry, pottery, copper products, wooden works, minerals and soap as well as vegetables, fruit and plants.

Throughout the day, there will be musical performances, show dance presentations and a martial arts demonstration. There will be a tractor and vintage vehicle display. A local company will provide views from a 30-meter-tall crane onto Unkenbach.

Children can sit at a campfire, test their woodcarving skills, participate in outdoor games and jump on bouncy castles.

Various food stands will serve vegetarian food, Irish specialties, soup, smoked salmon, pizza, potato pancakes and crepes.

A guided herbal hike, where participants will learn about valuable weeds and free home remedies, will start at 1 p.m. at the Unkenbach community hall.

Unkenbach has about 250 residents and is located on federal street B420, north of Lauterecken and south of Obermoschel.
