Air Force Ball

Team Ramstein members commemorated the 76th birthday of the U.S. Air Force as well as the 75th Anniversary of the Berlin Airlift at the Ramstein Air Force Ball, Ramstein Air Base, Nov. 3.

The festivities were hosted by Brig. Gen. Otis C. Jones, 86th Airlift Wing commander, and featured guest speaker retired General Stephen W. “Seve” Wilson who served as the Vice Chief of Staff of the U.S. Air Force.

The Berlin Airlift was a humanitarian aid mission that featured help from the British, the French, the Germans and U.S. Air Forces in Europe that saw over 287,000 sorties flown and 2.3 million tons of food, coal and provisions delivered to two million Berliners during the span of one year. The Berlin Airlift remains the largest Airlift operation in U.S. Air Force history.

This Air Force Ball was a tribute to airlift, mobility, Airmen and a proud U.S. Air Force heritage.

The festivities were hosted by Brig. Gen. Otis C. Jones, 86th Airlift Wing commander.
