The culture and convention center, Haus des Buergers, in Ramstein-Miesenbach, will open its doors for a pre-Christmas creative market Saturday and Sunday.

“Many of the more than 70 hobby artists and crafters from Rheinland-Pfalz, Saarland, Hessen, Nordrhein-Westfalen and Baden-Wuerrtemberg will present their creative works and allow visitors to watch them working,” said organizer Marita Altherr.

Artists demonstrate their different techniques and material they are working with.  “An artist from Brazil will create extraordinary light objects, and a glass blower demonstrates his work,” said Altherr.

A professor will draw funny caricatures and a fashion designer will present her unique textiles. Metal objects made of horseshoe nails will present a miniature world.

Some crafters will set up tables where visitors can join them and try out new and old crafting techniques.

Also available will be floristic items, jewelry, ceramics, home and garden decorations, soap, wooden objects and handmade hats and scarves.

The café in the basement will serve homemade cakes, cinnamon waffles and coffee.

“We again offer a raffle with nice prices,” said Altherr. “All proceeds will go to the Ramstein-Miesenbach Hospice Aid.”

Opening hours are 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.
