The “Purple Parrots” from the 86th Medical Squadron at Landstuhl race their homemade “battleship” at the Ramstein Aquatic Center May 19. Teams of Airmen assigned to various squadrons designed and built “battleships” out of cardboard and duct tape, which they used to compete for aquatic superiority.
Airmen assigned to various units in the Kaiserslautern Military Community race with homemade “battleships” during the 86th Force Support Squadron’s Battle of the Battleships May 19 at the Ramstein Aquatic Center. Teams competed in speed races and a “Last Ship Standing” event for medals and prizes during the community and morale event.
The 37th Airlift Squadron’s “Cloud Surfers” defend their battleship during the “Last Ship Standing” event May 19 on Ramstein. Battleships that survived the speed race went on to compete in the next event, where teams attempted to keep their vessel afloat while sinking the opposing team’s ship. The 86th Force Support Squadron Ramstein Aquatic Center hosts Battle of the Battleships annually to foster morale in the Kaiserslautern Military Community.
Members of the 37th Airlift Squadron’s “Cloud Surfers” receive medals for “Most Outstanding Design” May 19 on Ramstein.
