Bringing up the Gulfstream

Responding to a malfunctioning jack, the crashed, damaged and disabled aircraft recovery team executes an extremely sensitive procedure in order to avoid potential damage to one of seven C-20 Gulfstream aircraft in the Air Force. The black rubber aircraft lifting bags are used to lift the aircraft and replace the malfunctioning jack. Due to the cost, $29.4 million, and strategic significance of military aircraft, care is always taken with procedures such as this to avoid potential damage. The CDDAR team provides the 86th Airlift Wing with the capability to respond to a variety of aircraft incidents and mishaps.
