Cardboard challenge

Mikayla Grant, Kaiserslautern Middle School student (left), is working on a cardboard challenge project Oct. 19, and Peter Keel, Kaiserslautern Elementary School student, is showing off his robot, which he put together. KES accepted the cardboard challenge, and children from the elementary school and their parents created rocket ships, cars, games and monsters, all from recycled materials. Their endeavor was aided by the Keystone Club from Kaiserslautern High School, the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Club from KMS, and the 569th US. Forces Police Squadron. They worked as a community and cut, taped and glued their masterpieces together. — Photo by Mel Figuracion
