On Jan. 28, the 24th Intelligence Squadron held a sunset ceremony for the Eagle Vision One operation at Ramstein Air Base.

GROSTENQUIN, France — Before C-130 pilots can even fathom the idea of touching down in an austere environment, the ground must be tested. Prior to this, the landing zone must be secure and cleared of any hostile intent.

Airmen filter out through the office door and into the darkness. It’s the end of the work week, and the building gradually empties.
