And not only a single outing will suffice; you need to commit to regularly scheduled visits, spread over seasons. K-town markt, Kaiserslautern Markt, offers its heart to residents and visitors two mornings every week.

Go see The Documentation and Exhibition Centre, a permanent exhibition, in bright red shipping containers close to Azur swimming pool in Ramstein that traces the history of U.S. Americans in Rheinland-Pfalz. There is a real commitment in K-Town to making history and collective memories exciting and available for the population.

Situated halfway between Rotterdam and The Hague, is Delft, a charming town with many links to its historic past. The city is well known as an important manufacturer of Delft blue pottery, but was also the hometown of Johannes Vermeer, one of the most celebrated Dutch artists of the 17th century. His most famous works include “Girl With a Pearl Earring” and domestic interior scenes such as “The Milkmaid.”
