Francis Gilson, 86th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron flying crew chief, waits to take off from Šiauliai International Airport, Lithuania, to airlift American service members and Lithuanian paratroopers on a 37th Airlift Squadron C-130J Super Hercules May 17. Gilson was part of a five-man crew including 37th AS pilots and loadmasters. The team spent four days across three Baltic countries assisting in personnel drops of allied partners and American service members.

The second annual morale event included a costume contest, a blindfolded cone “minefield” navigation course and more as a way to promote camaraderie and esprit de corps. The event was also a way for the 86th MDG Airmen to learn the history of mobile Army surgical hospitals and the television show “MASH,” which portrayed them and the role they played in American history.
