Reipoltskirchen holds medieval market

Reipoltskirchen will host a medieval market at the bottom of its “Wasserburg,” a moated castle, Saturday and Sunday. For the fourth time, this castle, which is one of the best-kept castles in the Pfalz, will be the location for medieval groups presenting the life of the Middle Ages.

Concert season starts in Volkspark
Kaiserslautern starts its annual outdoor concert season at 11 a.m. Sunday in Volkspark. The group Pfaelzer Musikanten presents a mix of brass music. Every two weeks until Sept. 4, concerts will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Admission is free. Next to the music pavilion, children can enjoy an adventure playground. Beverages and little snacks are available at a bistro. Volkspark, with its duck pond, is located on the corner of Donnersberger and Entersweiler Strasse, next to the public swimming pool Warmfreibad. The vacation region Ohmbachsee-Glantal sponsors a culinary panorama hike between Haschbach and Niedermohr. More than 20 stations offer food specialties such as apple pancakes in Haschbach, flammkuchen in Theisbergstegen, curry wurst in Gimsbach, fish with potato salad in Matzenbach, vegetarian farmers’ pot in Fockenberg-Limbach, schnitzel sandwich in Reuschbach, trout and salmon in Rehweiler, and game frikadellen in Glan-Muenchweiler.
