Festival with light show takes place at Trippstadt

Two bands perform at the park and lights fest in Trippstadt today. Saturday, the regional band Brass Machine celebrates its 15th anniversary with a concert.

The Trippstadt Schloss grounds will be the stage for the fifth Schlosspark Festival starting at 6 p.m. today and 5 p.m. Saturday.

Tonight is “Unforgettable Night” and will feature rock and pop legends mixed with classic. First the acoustic trio MEP Live will entertain the audience from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The 30-member band The New Generation will play renowned songs by Whitney Houston, Joe Cocker and Freddy Mercury from
9 p.m. to midnight.

The park will turn into an ocean of lights with illuminations at 8:30 p.m. Hungry visitors can taste salmon from the Finish Kota grill, barbecue specialites, pizza and flammkuchen. In the romantic wine village, they will find wine and beer specialties as well as cocktails.

Visitors can bring their picnic blankets and candles but not their own food and beverages.
Unforgettable Night will end at 1 a.m. Saturday, the castle park will open at 5 p.m. Children can have fun in the kids’ paradise with a jumping castle, games and face paining until 9 p.m.

The musical program presents the local band Lio from 6 to 8 p.m. followed by the well-known regional band Brass Machine performing a diversified show to celebrate their 15th anniversary.
Light illuminations will start at 8:30 p.m. again. A musical fireworks display is scheduled for 10:50 p.m.
The fifth lights fest will close out at 1 a.m.

Visitors of the event can also admire art objects made of different materials.
Tickets cost €15 today and €11 on Saturday. Children under 7 are admitted free.

Parking is available on Steiggasse at Karlstalhalle, next to the Trippstadt public swimming pool or right across from the Schloss.
