MIHAIL KOGALNICEANU, Romania — A heavy equipment transporter team verified main supply routes capable of moving an M1A2 Abrams tank on a HET convoy that started Dec. 6 in Romania en route to Bulgaria.

Master Sgt. Timothy Herrman, U.S. Air Forces in Europe unit deployment cell superintendent, was young and alone when he arrived at his first duty station, Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, as a security forces Airman.

“Let me tell you about the power of mentorship,” said Chief Master Sgt. Kaleth Wright, U.S. Air Forces in Europe and Air Forces Africa command chief, before a crowd of Airmen and civilians at the 86th Comptroller Squadron on Ramstein. “What I think is important for all of you is deliberate development. There are tons of opportunities for you to grow, develop, and be a better person, but sometimes we’re not as deliberate as we should be.”

Taking care of annual training can mean a huge investment of time and resources, to include classroom instruction, computer-based training and a multitude of slideshows. With the holidays coming, who needs the extra stress?
