‘Shock and awe’ viewed from logistics prism

What images or thoughts does the phrase “shock and awe” give you? This phrase, originally included in a published paper by National Defense University in 1996, suggested its use to achieve rapid dominance with the goal to destroy or confound an adversary’s will to resist with no alternative except to capitulate.

ALS class 2014-01 graduates

U.S. Air Forces in Europe Airmen recently completed Airman Leadership School, where they took part in
192 curriculum hours, encompassing 23 leadership lesson and volunteered a total of 160 hours in the

U.S., German and French paratroopers wait to board a C-130J Super Hercules prior to conducting an airborne operation. The operation, which was coordinated by the 21st Theater Sustainment Command’s 5th Quartermaster Detachment (Airborne), was conducted as a part of International Jump Week in which paratroopers from the U.S., Germany, France, Spain, the Netherlands and Estonia perform airborne operations together in an effort to build on relationships and interoperability.
