Ramstein High School senior Kayla Kessel writes a letter of encouragement to members of a Covenant House in the U.S. during the Solidarity Sleep Out event April 19 on Ramstein. The sleep out was organized by the Ramstein Keystone Club and was aimed at raising awareness for the homeless.

Hundreds of thousands of children spend nights, days and weeks sleeping and living outside — in foster care. In support of those children, members of the KMC raised money by spending a night sleeping outside. The 60 volunteers were only allowed to bring a sleeping bag or a cardboard box and the clothes on their back.

AF officials announce civilian reduction in force

In a continuing effort to meet the Department of Defense funding targets in the FY12 President’s Budget and re-balance the civilian workforce, approximately 60 Air Force installations will implement civilian reduction in force authorities effective through about Aug. 23, to assist in the placement of employees not assigned against funded positions (termed “surplus employees”).
