Defense Secretary Leon E. Panetta today joined President Barack Obama in
recognizing the contributions veterans have made throughout U.S.
history and the sacrifices U.S. military members continue to make in
defending its freedoms.

The U.S. European Command sent two C-130J Super Hercules loaded with
cots, blankets, sleeping bags and hygiene kits to northeastern Turkey
Oct. 29 to aid victims of a recent earthquake there.
