The 21st Theater Sustainment Command held a retreat and retirement
ceremony at Panzer Parade Field in Kaiserslautern Aug. 27 to honor the
service and careers of three retiring Soldiers.
On Sept. 8, 1950, the 7329th Labor Service Unit was established at
Rhein-Main Air Base, Germany, and consisted entirely of civilians.
Members of the 521st Air Mobility Operations Wing came together to
welcome their new commander during a change of command ceremony Monday
in Hanger 3 on Ramstein.
Command Sgt. Maj. Thomas R. Capel became the 16th U.S. Army Europe

A military memorial service for Staff Sgt. James R. Ide V, 32, of
Festus, Mo., is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at the Vogelweh Chapel
in Kaiserslautern. Sergeant Ide died of wounds sustained Aug. 29 when
his unit was attacked with small arms fire near Hyderabad, Helmand
Province, Afghanistan.
