Two 86th Airlift Wing chaplains were recognized on April 13, for their service to our military members and their families in making sure every man and woman who serve in uniform has access to mental health resources.
U.S. Air Force Capt. Rotini Adedokun and Maj. Bryan J. Fox of the U.S. Air Forces in Europe Chaplain Corps both received a framed artwork of the prophet Elijah (1 Kings 19:1-8). This custom art was created by retired U.S. Army Col. Rick Roggia. The artwork is titled “Gift of Gratitude” and was provided by the McDermott Foundation and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The chaplain’s compassion and tireless work in serving is recognized by the McDermott Foundation for chaplains of Christian, Jewish, and Muslim faiths.
This artwork is the story of the prophet Elijah (1 Kings 19: 1-8) who is visited by a messenger telling him “His mission was not yet complete.” The artwork setting is in the wilderness where the Lord had prepared a Juniper tree that had to struggle and fight the elements just to provide shelter. This artwork visualizes the answer and message given to the prophet Elijah from the Lord and applies to all: “Your Mission Is Not Complete.”
The 86 Airlift Wing Chaplain Corps at Ramstein Air Base at the North and South Chapels, provides comprehensive spiritual care, confidential counseling, and religious services to Airmen and families.
