The world-famous and international Easter Egg Market will take place again March 16 to 17 at Eberbach Monastary. Top-class international exhibitors present their egg creations and work on their art for visitors to watch them. Coffee and cake will be offered in the exhibition room and the Kloster Schänke restaurant offers a wide choice of hot and cold dishes. Tickets are 5 euro for adults, children up to 12 years are free. Opening hours are 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 16 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 17.

Whatever you can possibly imagine to do with decorated eggs you will find it all here, in one of Germany’s most beautiful and exquisite Easter Egg markets. Works by 50 of the finest German and International egg artists are presented to the public in one of the first egg shows of the season. Egg artists from Switzerland, Russia, Hungary, all come together alongside with their German colleagues in this magnificent historical location of Maulbronn Monastery and present some 5000 decorated eggs on exhibition and for sale.

From small finch eggs up to big, solid ostrich eggs – every kind of egg produced by our feathered friends is turned into art pieces, big and small.

Explore the impressive 12th century monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and experience the special atmosphere of this famous place. Guided tours through the monastery take place daily at 11:15 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Adults pay 3 euro for a day pass and children up to the age of 14 are free. Free parking is available. Opening times are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on March 16 and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 17.

The colourful Easter season can be experienced in a very special way in the atmospheric ambience of Schwetzingen castle. This annual Easter Egg market offers an incredible variety of decorated Easter eggs from all over the world. Simple eggs become filigree works of art. Artists from many European countries exhibit their perfect creations. Decorated chicken, goose, duck and large ostrich eggs, as well as the smallest budgie eggs, are sought-after collectibles. Techniques such as milled eggs, eggs covered with silhouettes, etching and engraving techniques, tiny pearl applications, batik eggs, collages of embroidery, lace and grass, motif eggs painted with tempered colours, oil paints or watercolours, ink drawings, etc. are to be admired and coveted by the interested public.

During the Easter Egg market you can watch some artists at work. They are also happy to give advice on their own creative desgin of beautiful eggs.

Combination tickets (Park and Easter Egg Market) are 6 euro for adults, kids up to 6 years are free and up to 14 years are 3 euro. Opening hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 23 and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 24.
