Children’s fest is taking place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday in the center of Kaiserslautern, and “Fun and Action in the City” is the motto. The city and the advertising association, “Kaiser in Lautern,” will sponsor the traditional fest, offering a diverse program for the whole family. Stores, local clubs and institutions will also present manifold activities and special offers.

There will be games and crafting for children around Stiftskirche where they can learn about chemistry and physics, watch presentations by the youth fire brigade and test their skills on scooters.

A merry-go-round will be set up on Marktstrasse and jumping castles and face-painting will be on Fackelstrasse and Schillerplatz.

The local rabbit association will show its rabbits for children to pet on Riesenstrasse.
At Schillerplatz, the Pfalzgalerie Museum will put up a slackline, similar to a tightrope where a band or hose webbing is stretched between two attachment points, so children can test their balance and coordination. A balloon artist will also be there to demonstrate how to make figures from balloons.

Beginning at 12:30 p.m., a local ballet studio will invite the little ones to dance with them at Altenhof, and a local dancing school will present a kid’s disco with a show and entertaining program. Children can bake with the bakery at Altenhof or watch as the bakery makes goodies for them. The miniature boat club will show off model boats, and the free kiddy train will give children free rides starting on Schillerplatz.
The Kolping Youth Brass Orchestra will perform and ask children to join them on their instruments.

On Fruchthallstrasse, a fire truck and military police vehicle from Ramstein will be on display, and security forces will present a military police vehicle.

Children can participate in crafting and other activities during the children's fest.
