***image1***The 20-percent increase in the number of attendees and representatives at the College Night held Oct. 18 shows that the partnership of the U.S. Army Garrison Kaiserslautern and the KMC schools is a success, said Steve Pelletier, the garrison’s Family Morale, Welfare and Recreation director.

This is the first year College Night – a one-stop shopping bonanza for the future – was held at the Special Events Center on Rhine Ordnance Barracks, which is more than double the size of previous locations.

More than 1,200 students, parents, guidance counselors and teachers from international and Department of Defense Dependents Schools throughout Germany, Belgium and Italy attended the event.

“It’s like little America in here,” said Christina Guzman, 17, Heidelberg American High School senior, who attended the event along with 16 classmates and teachers. “There are so many colleges here.”

Close to 110 accredited colleges and universities, as well as scholarship and financial agencies from the U.S. and Europe were represented at the event.
