Domestic Abuse Victim Advocacy Services: If you are 18 and over, and are in an abusive relationship, advocates are available to support you. Advocacy services are available 24/7. During duty hours an advocate can be reached at 06371-46-2370 and after hours at 0173-628-4624. Advocates provide supportive services and can assist with safety planning, assessing for imminent harm, connecting with community resources and information on reporting options.

ASACS is a comprehensive program providing prevention education, and counseling services to 11- to 19-year-old ID card holders in the military community. ASACS’s mission is to provide comprehensive counseling services to adolescents and military families stationed OCONUS while enhancing military readiness and quality of life. In addition, ASACS offers Life Skills classes that promote health and personal development in the Department of Defense schools. We participate in supportive activities related to military life transitions as well as provide individual, group and family counseling services. ASACS counselors’ offices are located in Department of Defense schools for the convenience of military families. ASACS counseling services are completely confidential. Hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday; however flexible appointment times are available to meet the needs of military families.

MFLCs are licensed clinical providers who assist service members and their families with issues they may face throughout the cycle of deployment to reintegrating with their family and community. The MFLC Program provides short-term, non-medical counseling support for a range of issues including: relationships, crisis intervention, stress management, grief, occupational and other individual and family issues. Psycho-educational presentations focused on issues common to the military family including: reunion/reintegration, stress/coping, grief/loss and deployment/reintegration.
Kaiserslautern Landstuhl Spouses Association: The KLSA Club gather every 2nd Tuesday of the month at the Armstrong Club from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. for lunch and social. All contracted, military, and civilian spouses welcome.
German-American Stammtisch. The state initiative “Welcome to Rheinland-Pfalz!” and the town of Mehlingen will host the “German-American Stammtisch Mehlingen” on June 27, at 6 p.m. at the restaurant Hof Reitstube, Fröhnerhof 13c. The Stammtisch aims at facilitating the local German-American exchange and provides a recurring forum for Americans and locals to meet and get to know each other. Multicultural Spouses Club: Every 3rd Wednesday of the month from 1 to 3 p.m. Join fellow spouses for a fun and interactive club that promotes diversity and networking. Hello America: First Thursday of the month from 9 to 10 a.m. This class increases knowledge of American culture, customs, and language for all foreign-born spouses moving to the United States. This class will also increase knowledge of local customs, and traditions, as well as areas such as dining, shopping, local currency, health care differences, and conducting business. Class meets at Kleber Kaserne, Bldg.3210, Room 227.
Spouses Host Nation Orientation: Every 3rd Thursday of the month from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Gain a better understanding of German culture and customs in this hands-on, community oriented program. Learn DOs and DON’Ts while experiencing the city of Kaiserslautern and navigating the bus system. Registration is required and must be made at least 1 day prior to the event.
Smooth Move Workshop: Every 4th Thursday from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Are you ready to PCS to a new location? This informative class provides detailed information about the Permanent Change of Station process. Topics covered are relocation stress factors, special assignments, shipment of household goods and more. Class meets at Kleber Kaserne, Bldg. 3210, Room 227.
Sponsorship Training: Every 2nd and 4th Tuesday from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. This course will help you fulfill the role as a sponsor for incoming personnel. Units sending students to training are required to pre-register with ACS to ensure that a unit specific sign-in roster is available. This training is open to Soldiers, civilians and spouses who will act as sponsors. Class meets at Kleber Kaserne, Bldg. 3210, Room 227.
Spouse Sponsorship: Every 4th Thursday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. This course will help spouse sponsors fulfill their role as a sponsor for incoming spouses. This is a family-friendly version of our regular Sponsorship Training. This session is specifically scheduled during the school day and is held in a location for spouses who must attend with young children. Class meets at Kleber Kaserne, Bldg. 3210, Room 227.
Comfort Measures and Relaxation for Childbirth: First Wednesday of every month, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Take part in this interactive class! Bring a partner or friend, water and wear comfortable clothes. Topics include: massage and acupressure, positions for labor, use of tools such as the birth ball, meditation and focusing techniques, aroma therapy, and hot and cold therapies. Commanders and Senior Leaders Training: First Thursday of every month, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. This training is a mandatory requirement within 45 days of assumption of command for all commanders and senior enlisted advisors (E7-E9). Receive information on the Family Advocacy Program, the Exceptional Family Member Program, the Army Substance Abuse Program, and the Army Emergency Relief Program and how these programs can benefit Soldiers and their families. Conversational German: Gain a better understanding of the written and verbal German language! Two levels are offered: German Basics and Intermediate German. All course materials are provided free of charge. Classes run in 8-week semesters. Advance registration is required as these classes often fill up fast.
Dads 101: A Crash Course for New and Expecting Dads: 3rd Tuesday of every month, 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Dads, this one is for you! This class includes topics such as: preparing for fatherhood, surviving the first few weeks, caring for your new baby, ways to keep your baby safe and more. Taught by an experienced dad and open to new and expecting dads. Locations vary.
