Family Advocacy

Dads Bootcamp: 4 to 6 p.m. April 11 and 18, Bldg. 2116 (ERPS C Bay, Green Dot training location). This is a 2-session class designed for new dads or soon to be new dads.  Session 1 covers your role as a dad and caring for mom and baby.  Session 2 covers couples communication and ways to keep your baby safe.  Session 2 is designed for mom and dad. 

Parenting with Love and Logic: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 9, 16, 23, 30, Bldg. 2123. 

Join us for a 4-part parenting class. Tired of being the bad guy? Let logical consequences take your place.  Learn new ways of disciplining your child while providing love and empathy, the Love and Logic way. 

5 Love Languages of Children: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 18, Bldg. 2123 (Family Advocacy).

This is a 1-time class.  Ever wonder the best way to show your child you love them?  Discover what matters to them by learning their love language. 

Anger Management: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 20, 27, May 4, Bldg. 2123

This 3-series class discusses skills to help understand your anger, identify what triggers and fuels your anger, and ways to cope and relax, plus more.

Domestic Abuse Victim Advocacy Services: If you are 18 and over, and are in an abusive relationship, advocates are available to support you.  Advocacy services are available 24/7.  During duty hours an advocate can be reached at 06371-46-2370 and after hours at 0173-628-4624.  Advocates provide supportive services and can assist with safety planning, assessing for imminent harm, connecting with community resources and information on reporting options.

Adolescent Support And Counseling Services is a comprehensive program providing prevention education, and counseling services to 11- to 19 year-old ID card holders in the military community. ASACS’s mission is to provide comprehensive counseling services to adolescents and military families stationed OCONUS while enhancing military readiness and quality of life.  In addition, ASACS offers Life Skills classes that promote health and personal development in the Department of Defense schools. We participate in supportive activities related to military life transitions as well as providing individual, group and family counseling services.  ASACS counselors’ offices are located in Department of Defense schools for the convenience of military families. ASACS counseling services are completely confidential.  Hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday; however flexible appointment times are available to meet the needs of military families.

Military Family Life Consultants

MFLCs are licensed clinical providers who assist service members and their families with issues they may face throughout the cycle of deployment to reintegrating with their family and community. The MFLC Program provides short-term, non-medical counseling support for a range of issues including: relationships, crisis intervention, stress management, grief, occupational and other individual and family issues. Psycho-educational presentations focused on issues common to the military family including: reunion/reintegration, stress/coping, grief/loss and deployment/reintegration.
