24/7 fitness center access coming soon

Active Duty members can get ready and register now for 24/7 access to both the Landstuhl and Mountaineer Fitness Centers. To register, simply stop by the participating Fitness Centers to ensure you have a RecTrac account, review the updated rules and sign a liability waiver. No Cook Fridays in February at the Rheinlander Convention Center

No Cook Fridays in February at Armstrong’s Club

Take the load off yourself, family or friends after a long week with No Cook Fridays! Get your weekend started right with a delicious meal this Friday night that you didn’t have to plan, prepare, cook and clean up after. This month’s menu options of XL schnitzels served plain with fries or with your choice of mushroom cream sauce or paprika sauce and spaetzel with breadcrumbs, roast beef with cabbage and traditional German dumplings, roasted salmon with vegetable rice and lemon sauce, and vegetarian lasagna with tomato sauce. Add a salad or Bavarian cheese spaetzel with fried onions as an additional side to any dish. Stuffed Animal Sleepover

The Landstuhl Library has an adorable opportunity for your favorite stuffed animal to enjoy, a stuffed animal sleepover! You can drop off your stuffed animal at the Landstuhl Library on Thu, Feb. 11 by 5:30 p.m. for a library sleepover full of games and fun! Your fluffy friend will not want to miss this FREE event! After a night of fun with friends, your stuffed animal can be picked up on Fri, Feb. 12 between 1-4:30 p.m. This event is a drop-off event only. However there will be picture proof showing you just how much fun your stuffed animal had at their sleepover! Virtual German hunting course with Baumholder Outdoor Recreation

Don’t believe the rumors that you cannot pursue your hobby of hunting or owning firearms in Germany! Register today for the German Hunting Course with Baumholder Outdoor Recreation starting Feb. 20. Over the eight week course you will cover all facets of hunting in Germany with material covering everything from land management, game disease, harvest plans as well as how you earn the right to hunt and own firearms in Germany with this lifelong certification. Course is open to U.S. ID cardholders ages 18 and over and will be required to pass background checks. Virtual Community Cooking with Stefan

Join Army Community Service Feb. 10 at 5:30 p.m. for a free cooking workshop from the comfort of your own home! Community Cooking with Stefan will feature two of our favorite local dishes to warm you up this February, traditional pork schnitzel and a hearty pumpkin soup. Please look for a list of ingredients on the official USAG Rheinland Pfalz ACS Facebook Page, so that you can prepare to follow along with Stefan and learn how to make these classic German dishes in your own kitchen. Take advantage of the convenience of the newest VAT office on Vogelweh Housing at Armstrong’s Club, Bldg. 1036! Open Mon, Wed & Fri 10 a.m.-5 p.m., closed between 1-2 p.m. for lunch. All the VAT Offices located in both Baumholder and Kaiserslautern have services Mon-Fri. on an appointment only basis. UTAP services on Kleber Kaserne are by virtual appointment only. Sembach Java Café reopening for takeout

The Sembach Java Café has reopened their doors for takeout and in honor of the occasion, will be offering specials for the month of February. Early risers can take advantage of the Early Bird Specials (6:30 – 7 a.m.): Tall coffee for $.99 or a tall cappuccino or latte for $1.99. Add a Danish to either for $2. Avoid post lunch drowsiness with the Afternoon Special from 1-1:30 p.m. offering a grande cappuccino or latte with a cookie for $2.99. The Aquatic Center is currently closed for yearly maintenance. The Rheinlander’s Valentine’s Day Dinner to-go

Whether you are having a romantic dinner at home with just you and that special someone or you have the whole family coming together, make your Valentine’s Day dinner special and fuss-free when you pick up a three course meal to-go from The Rheinlander! Serve a delicious meal of carrot ginger soup, homemade rolls, pork tenderloin with paprika sauce, carrots and peas in white sauce with thyme potatoes and an apple strudel with vanilla sauce for dessert. Take your Valentine out while staying in and enjoy a three course meal for two for $60 at home. With three meal options to select from, everyone can be happy! Choose between lemon chicken with roasted potatoes, a porcini mushroom cream sauce and caramelized carrots, baked fillet of Atlantic salmon with tomato-mango salsa, a rice pilaf with lemongrass infused sprouts and sugar snaps or vegetarian lasagna with tomato sauce and fresh parsley. Each meal includes a bottle of sparkling wine, caprese tomato mozzarella with aged balsamic and caipirinha jelly as well as a dessert of marbled mouse au chocolate, a strawberry tiramisu with ground coffee beans and four macarons. Virtual 5K Sweetheart Run/Walk

Take your partner, family member, or your best friend and join USAG RP Fitness, Athletics and Aquatics for a Virtual 5K Sweetheart Run/Walk! Complete your 5K anywhere you would like between Saturday, Feb. 13 at 6:00 a.m. and Sunday, Feb. 14 at 6:00 p.m. and post a picture of your and your partner’s time in the Facebook Sports & Fitness group’s event. You and your partner’s combined distance needs to be 10 km. (Must participate in pairs. You cannot count your dog as a partner, sorry!) First 15 partners who submit their times will get a free T-shirt! (1 t-shirt per person, partners under eight years old will receive a medal.) Additionally, 1 pair of participants will be randomly chosen to receive a $25 gift certificate for each participant!
