Get Outdoors with Army ODR Virtual Contest

MWReligible patrons can enjoy time outside during the Get Outdoors with Army Outdoor Recreation virtual contest open through Oct. 31. Each completed activity or equipment rental at Baumholder or Kaiserslautern ODR earns an entry into monthly prize drawings. Participants must submit the official online form for every qualifying action. Winners are announced the second Friday after each month. Rolling Hills Golf Open

Golfers can compete at the Rolling Hills Golf Course’s Open Aug. 15 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the course, Bldg. 8888 on Wetzel Kaserne. Cost is $50, which includes an 18-hole round of golf w/cart, a range token, and tickets for a barbecue meal and refreshment. The Rolling Hills Open is a 1-day 18-hole championship tournament. This is a solo tournament playing in groups of 4. Prizes will be given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place (RHGC Gift cards, $100, $75, and $50) and all winners will receive automatic inclusion on the Rolling Hills Ryder Cup team. Kaiserslautern’s End of Summer Car Show

Registration for the Kaiserslautern’s End of Summer Car Show is Aug. 19 to Sep. 19. Cost is $10 per vehicle. The car show is Sep. 19 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Pulaski Park on Pulaski Barracks. Car-show participation for judging and prizes are open to all military affiliated ID card holders with or without SOFA status, to include active duty, reserve, retired, veteran, family member, and DOD/DA/DAF civilians. There will be 5 categories: Best European; Best Muscle Car; Best American Car; Best JDM and Best Old Timer (must be 25 years or older). Adventures Begin Here – End of Summer Fest

Family and MWR will culminate the drawing of stunning 2026 MINI Cooper S (4 Door), courtesy of Bavarian Motor Cars, during “Adventures Begin Here – End of Summer Fest” on Aug. 29 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Pulaski Park on Pulaski Barracks. The event will feature live entertainment, contests with exciting prizes, and an interactive equipment display. Guests can enjoy food trucks and a full lineup of family activities, plus family fun tournaments. Landstuhl CYS Job Fair

Child & Youth Services will hold an in-person job fair Sep. 15 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Landstuhl Youth Center, Bldg. 93812 on Landstuhl Post. Baumholder Automotive Skills Vehicle Auction

Baumholder Automotive Skills Center is having a Vehicle Auction from Aug. 15 to 25. Vehicles are located at the Baumholder Automotive Skill Center, Bldg. 8438 on Smith Barracks. Bids are accepted during normal business hours at the customer service counter. Customers who have the winning bids will be notified within 7 to 10 days after the auction closes.  If the winning bid declines or there is no contact, the next highest bidder will be contacted. Sports Massage Therapy in Baumholder

Sports Massage Therapy services are now available at the Aquatics Center, Bldg. 8895/8897 on Wetzel Kaserne, offering 30-, 50- and 80minute sessions designed to ease tension and improve mobility. Certified therapists provide Myofascial Release, Deep Tissue, Swedish Massage, and Medical Sports Massage to help reduce stress, manage pain and support strength building. The Baumholder program offers personalized care for active-duty service members, families and community members. All services require a scheduled appointment. 9/11 Remembrance Field Day

Midnight Bowl-a-thon

Strikers Bowling Center, Bldg. 8105 on Smith Barracks, will host Monthly Midnight Bowling on select Fridays from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. The event is open to adults 18 and older and costs $15 per person, which includes lane use and shoe rental. Free Saturday Line Dancing Lessons

Free line dancing lessons will be offered on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month at the Armstrong’s Club, Bldg. 1036 on Vogelweh Housing. The next one is Aug. 8. The sessions run from 8 to 9 p.m. and are open to all skill levels. Participants can practice their new moves during Country Night immediately afterward, featuring music by DJ Caddy. Family Fundays at Baumholder Recreation Center

The Baumholder Recreation Center, Bldg. 8218 on Smith Barracks, hosts its monthly Family Funday every second Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m., featuring a handson craft, a family movie on the big screen and free popcorn. Craft kits are free but limited, and registration is required by the Wednesday prior at usag_rp_bmc_rec_ctr@army.mil. Craft previews are posted on the Baumholder Recreation Center Facebook Group. Resident Artists Workshop

Local artist Nahjier Williams leads Resident Artist Workshops on Aug. 12 at 3 p.m. at the Baumholder Library, Bldg. 8332 on Smith Barracks. The handson program invites participants ages 6 and older to explore art techniques, create original work and connect with others in a guided studio setting. No experience is required, supplies are provided and registration is required at baumholderlibrary@army.mil.   

SKIES Soccer Summer Camps

Register your child now for SKIES Unlimited soccer training for youth ages 2 to 16. The next Outdoor Training is Aug. 12-14 at the Pulaski Field on Pulaski Barracks.  Times and fees vary by age and are listed on webtrac.mwr.army.mil. Open to ID card holders from all branches of service. Taught by professional soccer coaches. Baumholder Library’s “Makermania”

“Makermania,” for ages six to 12 years old, is the second Thursday of the month at 4 p.m. in the Baumholder Library, Bldg. 8332 on Smith Barracks. The next one is Aug. 13. This is a time to explore and experiment with the different elements of S.T.E.A.M (Science Technology Engineering Art Mathematics). Each month, children will take part in a different activity that creatively employs one or more elements. Registration is not required. Youth Sports Spartan Obstacle Challenge

Registration for the Baumholder Youth Sports & Fitness’ Youth Spartan Obstacle Challenge Event is until Aug. 14, at Parent Central Services, Bldg. 8876 on Wetzel Kaserne or WebTrac. The challenge is Aug. 15 at 11 a.m. on Minick Field. This is for youth, aged 5 to 18.  Participants will have the opportunity to test their physical skills while traversing through a high-octane obstacle course with a Spartan theme. Youth who conquer this Spartan challenge will be awarded with a Baumholder exclusive Spartan gift. Movie Park KMC BOSS Trip

Movie Park Germany will be the destination for the Kaiserslautern Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers (BOSS) trip on Aug. 14. Registration closes Aug. 13, with only 18 spots available. The group will depart at 8 a.m. from Bldg. 277 on Rhine Ordnance Barracks, and transportation is provided. Participants must purchase their own park entrance ticket and may register through the KMC BOSS WhatsApp group using the QR code on flyers or at kaiserslautern.armymwr.com. Landstuhl Youth Center Summer Trips

Get ready for the best summer ever! The Landstuhl Youth Center is offering a summer trip series that’s all about fun, friends, and adventure. Trips are happening now to the week of Aug. 10. Registration is now opened and runs thru the summer. Participants can look forward to new places, new experiences, and even two multi-day trips, making it a summer they’ll never forget! Dog Obedience Training

Kaiserslautern Outdoor Recreation has dog obedience training starting at eight-weeks of age held Saturdays at the Kaiserslautern Outdoor Recreation Motor Pool, Bldg. 2902 on Pulaski Barracks. Classes are one hour, with time slots between 9 a.m. to noon depending on the size of the dog. Cost is $15 per dog. This fee must be paid in advance by close of business Friday either in person at Kaiserslautern Outdoor Recreation or by calling 493-4117 or 0631-3406-4117. SKIES Gymnastics

Enrollment is now open for SKIES Unlimited gymnastics for ages 1 to 18 in the Kaiserslautern Community. SOS Survivor Support Group

The Army Community Service Survivor Outreach Services hosts a SOS Survivor Support Group second Thursday of every month from 5 to 7 p.m. in Building 3820 (next to the Thrift Shop), second floor conference room on Landstuhl Post. Registration is required and must be done by 2 p.m. the day of the meeting by calling the ACS front desk at 531-2863/2851 or 0611-143-531-2863/2851. This is an ongoing monthly support group for surviving family members of deceased active duty service members.

Latin Nights at the Rheinlander!

The last Friday of the month is Latin Night from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., in the ballroom of the Rheinlander Community Club, Bldg. 8085 on Smith Barracks. The Salsa Band Borinkuba will perform live several Latin music favorites, such as Salsa, Merengue and Bachata.  Food is available from 8 to 11 p.m. This event is for those 18 and older, who are I.D. card holders.
