Independence Day Celebration

Celebrate America’s birthday at Minick Field on Smith Barracks in Baumholder on Friday, July 4 starting at 4 p.m.  The event will showcase live music from Jörg Sanders & Friends and Groove Colour, a car show, food trucks, family activities, and a spectacular fireworks display. Rolling Hills to Host July 4th Golf Scramble

Celebrate Independence Day on the greens at Rolling Hills with an 18-hole, two-person team scramble at the Rolling Hills Golf Course, Bldg. 8888 on Wetzel Kaserne. The event will tee off with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. on July 4. Golfers are encouraged to wear their best red, white and blue attire. “Adventures Begin Here” at Outdoor Recreation

Outdoor Recreation is thrilled to invite you to an exhilarating event on Saturday, July 19, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Pulaski Park on Pulaski Barracks. This free event serves as an opportunity to showcase tons of information about excursions and programs that Outdoor Recreation offers. There will be contests with amazing prizes, interactive equipment display, fun activities for all ages, dog obedience training and community engagement. Baumholder CYS Sports Summer Camp Registration

Registration for Baumholder Youth Sports Summer Camps is happening now to Sunday, June 29. Cost is $30 per child.  Camps are: Basketball for ages 5-15 (July 7-10); Ultimate Golf for ages 9-15 (July 15-18); Volleyball for ages 9-15 (July 21-24); and Soccer for ages 5-15 (July 28-31). No sports physicals will be required. Thursday Night Comedy Show

From Slovenia, Anja Woot headlines the Thursday Comedy Show July 17 from 8 to 10 p.m. at the Kazabra Club, Bldg. 2057 on Vogelweh. Featured comedians are Mari Volar, a powerhouse on the European Comedy Circuit, and Joe Esch, from Pittsburgh, Pa. This is an 18+ event. Doors open at 7 p.m., tickets are $15 at the door.  Payment can be made with credit and debit cards or U.S dollars. Euros are not accepted. Army Community Service 60th Birthday

Army Community Service will turn 60 years old on July 25.  To celebrate, ACS is hosting a 60th Birthday Celebration on Friday, July 25, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Baumholder ACS, Bldg. 8666 on Smith Barracks. A Midsummer Night’s Bowl

Celebrate the first night of summer with midnight bowling June 21 from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. at the Strikers Bowling Center, Bldg. 8185 on Smith Barracks. Ages 18 and older only. Cost is $18 per person, which includes unlimited bowling, shoes, finger foods and nonalcoholic beverages. The bar will be open during the event, and pajamas are encouraged.

Youth Sports “Summer Cheer Camp” registration is now to June 27, or when slots are full. The camp is offered for ages 8 to 12 on Sembach Kaserne. Cost is $35. “Explore Archery” Summer Camp

Family and MWR Youth Sports are offering “Explore Archery” Summer Camp for ages 10 to 15. Registration is from now to June 27, or when slots are full. The camp is July 14 to 18 or Aug. 4 to 8 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Twin Field on Landstuhl Post.  Cost is $45. The focus is on building fundamental skills, a competitive edge, and a bit of creativity. SKIES Irish Dance Classes

Register your child now for SKIES Unlimited Irish Dance Classes for ages 4 to 18 at the SKIES Bldg. 3819 on Landstuhl Post. Summer camps are currently offered for the following dates: June 16 to 25, Monday to Wednesday, and July 8 to 31, Tuesday to Thursday. Registration for the Sembach Fall Cheer Program is now to July 15, or when slots are full. The camp is offered for ages 8 to 12 on Sembach Kaserne. Cost is $65 & up. A Sports Physical, good through Nov. 15, is required. SKIES Driver’s Education

SKIES Unlimited is offering Driver’s Education for ages 15 to 18. Registration now open. Cost is $350. Classes are July 14 to 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:40 p.m. Course includes 45 credit hours, theory and driver simulator training. Youth Fall Sports Enrollments 

Youth Sports Fall enrollments are now to July 11, or until teams are full. Sports offered are: Pom Dance, Soccer, Flag Football, Cheer, Volleyball, Cross Country and Tackle Football. Cost is $65 and up. Minimum age requirements vary by sports. A Sports Physical good through Nov. 15 is required. Register on WebTrac or by visiting Parent Central Services, Rhine Ordnance Barracks, Bldg.162, or by calling 541-9065/ 9066/ 9067 or 0611 143 541 9065/ 9066/ 9067. Walk-Ins are welcome on Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m.to 4 p.m. 

School Age Summer Camps

Registration is now open for the Army Family and MWR Child and Youth Services School Age Programs’ Vision 2025 “Shaping Our Future” Summer Camps.  The program offers nine weeks of care services from June 16 to Aug 11. Registration goes until the start of the last camp. These camps are for School Age Centers on Wetzel Kaserne, Landstuhl Post or Sembach Kaserne. Weekly Bike Rides with Outdoor Recreation

Baumholder Outdoor Recreation is offering “It’s almost Friday! Come ride with Outdoor Recreation” bike rides from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursdays happening now to Aug. 31. Trips depart and return at Baumholder Outdoor Recreation, Bldg. 8167 on Smith Barracks. Cost is $5 to rent a standard bike or $10 for an E-Bike. It is free if you bring your own bike. If you are registered for the IMCOM Bike Challenge, this ride is a great opportunity to earn miles or KMs toward your 1000KM! 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

Families are invited to join the 1,000 Books before Kindergarten on-line program at the Landstuhl Library. Register with Landstuhl Youth Center

The Landstuhl Youth Center is a facility for youth in grades 6th-12th that offers a wide range of programs and activities Monday through Friday, after school. This free program is available to youth who have a military affiliation in Germany. Homeschooled youth, and youth who attend either a German or DODEA school are welcome to join. Free Dance Lessons at Armstrong’s Club

The new open sessions of free beginner dance lessons is every Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Armstrong’s Club, Bldg. 1036 on Vogelweh Housing. The focus is Country Two Step, Swing and Line Dance. Ten other styles are also available upon request. No experience necessary. Next session is July 9 to Aug. 6. Wear smooth bottom shoes. Rubber-soled athletic shoes are not ideal for dancing.
