
Armstrong’s Grand Reopening
A grand reopening celebration is scheduled for Friday, June 5, starting at 6 p.m., with free fingerfood snacks for attendees. The reopening highlights Armstrongs’ newly upgraded airconditioning system. Chuck’s Pub trivia will be offered at no cost in the Armstrongs bar. U.S. Army 251st Birthday Golf Scramble
Registration for the U.S. Army 251st Birthday Golf Scramble is now to June 14. The birthday scramble will be Sunday, June 14, starting at 2 p.m. at the Rolling Hills Golf Course, Bldg. 8888 on Wetzel Kaserne. This is a nine-hole golf scramble. Cost is $25 for those who register for the scramble BEFORE June 6 and $30 for those who register from June 7 to 14. Tee time is 2 p.m. The birthday celebration will begin at 4:30 p.m. and will feature a barbecue, refreshments, and a complimentary piece of birthday cake. Be festive and wear black and gold! U.S. Army 251st Birthday Run
Army Family and MWR and the 16th Sustainment Brigade will proudly host a free fun run in honor of the U.S. Army’s 251st birthday on Thursday, June 11 starting at 6:30 a.m. on the Minick Field on Smith Barracks. 75/250 German American Friendship Festival
U.S. Army Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz and the City of Baumholder will host a joint three-day festival July 3 to 5 to commemorate 75 years of German American partnership in Baumholder and the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence. Everyone is invited to attend. The festival will take place at the Baumholder Army Airfield and will include military static displays, amusement rides, food and beverage vendors, live entertainment and a July 4 fireworks show. Army Birthday Serving Heroes Military Appreciation Meal
The Gary Sinise Foundation in partnership with Family and MWR presents a free “Serving Heroes” appreciation meal June 12 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sembach Community Center, Bldg. 220 on Sembach Kaserne. In recognition of the U.S Army’s 251st Birthday, this special meal honors the dedication, service, and sacrifice of our soldiers. Get Outdoors with Army ODR Virtual Contest
MWReligible patrons can enjoy time outside during the Get Outdoors with Army Outdoor Recreation virtual contest open through Oct. 31. Each completed activity or equipment rental at Baumholder or Kaiserslautern ODR earns an entry into monthly prize drawings. Participants must submit the official online form for every qualifying action. Winners are announced the second Friday after each month. Intro to Flag Football Camp
Enrollment is open now through June 30 for an introductory flag football camp that will teach children ages 5 and 6 the fundamentals of the sport in a positive, high-energy environment. Camp is from July 28 to Aug. 6The instructional program focuses entirely on skills and drills for beginners, requiring no seasonal league commitments. Participants must remain 6 years old or younger through the camp’s conclusion on Aug. 6. Free Dance Lessons at Armstrong’s Club
Patrons can learn Two-Step and other dance styles with the free beginner dance lessons now to Aug. 13. This is the final season for this program. These classes are open sessions, once a week, on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Armstrong’s Club, Bldg. 1036 on Vogelweh Housing. Dog Obedience Training
Kaiserslautern Outdoor Recreation has dog obedience training starting at eight-weeks of age held Saturdays at the Kaiserslautern Outdoor Recreation Motor Pool, Bldg. 2902 on Pulaski Barracks. Classes are one hour, with time slots between 9 a.m. to noon depending on the size of the dog. Cost is $15 per dog. SOS Survivor Support Group
The Army Community Service Survivor Outreach Services hosts a SOS Survivor Support Group second Thursday of every month from 5 to 7 p.m. in Building 3820 (next to the Thrift Shop), second floor conference room on Landstuhl Post. Registration is required and must be done by 2 p.m. the day of the meeting by calling the ACS front desk at 531-2863/2851 or 0611-143-531-2863/2851. This is an ongoing monthly support group for surviving family members of deceased active duty service members.
Latin Nights at the Rheinlander!
The last Friday of the month is Latin Night from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., in the ballroom of the Rheinlander Community Club, Bldg. 8085 on Smith Barracks. The Salsa Band Borinkuba will perform live several Latin music favorites, such as Salsa, Merengue and Bachata.
