Consumer fair includes biggest Easter nest

***image1***More than 80 exhibitors will present their merchandise, works and services at the 11th Westrich Trade Exhibition Saturday and Sunday in Ramstein-Miesenbach.

Local stores, craftsmen and businesses present who they are and what they have to offer in the Haus des Bürgers, on Marktplatz and in a craftsmen tent on Prometheusplatz. Five car dealerships will display the latest models on the intersection near the museum. Stores offer shopping until 6 p.m. Saturday, and they are open 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday.

For the first time, three wards of St. Johannis Hospital from Landstuhl participate in the fair and give information on new surgery methods.
Drinks and food specialties are offered around Marktplatz, and a diverse musical program entertains the audience.

***image2***Mayor Klaus Layes officially opens the consumer fair at 11 a.m. Saturday by tapping the first keg of beer. Sunday activities start at 11 a.m. with a “Frühschoppen,”an early morning beer get-together. A fair newspaper hot off the press will be distributed at all stands, booths and stores.

The Kolping Family offers homemade cakes and coffee in the foyer of the Haus des Bürgers. Proceeds go to children with cancer.

All participants and organizers expect – just like last year  – about 20,000 visitors during the two days.

Also present are life-sized Easter Bunnies in the “biggest Easter nest of the Pfalz,” created by the city nursery and set up in the Marktbrunnen (market fountain). The Easter Bunnies will distribute Easter eggs to children.
