A culinary hike will take place tomorrow and Sunday in Rodenbach. This year under the motto “hiking and enjoying,” all interested are invited to walk. Opening hours to hike are Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Along the 6-kilometer, stroller-friendly, mostly paved round course, eight wineries willset up booths with excellent wines and seccos, grown in the most diverse regions in the west Palatinate. Wine, regional and Mediterranean delicacies, such as pork roast, salmon filet on a Finnish Kota grill, soup, vegetarian cheese dumplings and grilled specialties are offered to the hungry hikers.

Young visitors get to jump on a bouncy castle at the children’s paradise at station one, while live music will entertain all generations. Hikers have the option of buying a wine pass and sampling glass for eight euro at the two information booths. The wine pass also counts as the ticket to the event. Visitors with a wine pass will be able to sample wines at a reduced price of two euro at the different wine stations. The wine pass also counts as a raffle ticket, fill out the wine pass with your name and email address and turn it in at the information booths. Hikers who do not want to participate in wine sampling, do not need to buy the ticket.
Visitors can park their cars at the Waldfreibad, the outdoor pool in Sportstrasse or in the center of town, in Fuchsstrasse, Am Fuerstengrab and Am Keltenplatz. Passengers can board busses on route 140 and 141 to be driven to the center of Rodenbach. For details, visit www.swk-kl.de or www.vrn.de.
