DeCA comptroller receives award

***image1***Christine Frey, Defense Commissary Agency Europe’s comptroller, has
received the Meritorious Comptroller Award for Under Major Command
presented by the American Society of Military Comptrollers. This award
recognizes outstanding accomplishment within one of the functional
fields of comptrollership. Winners were recognized at the annual ASMC
Professional Development Institute held this June in San Diego, Calif.,
and will be listed in the Armed Forces Comptroller magazine.

She also won the Military Comptroller Award for the German state of
Rheinland-Pfalz, competing against other comptrollers working for the
American military.

A native of Zweibruecken, Frey began working for the American forces in
1981 as a temporary clerk for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Her
first position in the commissary system began the next year with the
U.S. Army Troop Support Agency in document control.

She and her husband, Joerg, have one son, Thimo. She is also an active
member of a women’s fitness group and a business roundtable.
