U.S. Air Force Airmen render a final salute to the possible remains of World War II soldiers during a dignified transfer at Ramstein Air Base, June 23. The remains will undergo examination for possible identification by Defense Prisoners of War/Missing in Action Accounting Agency forensic anthropologists. The DPAA’s mission is to provide the fullest possible accounting for our missing personnel to their families and the nation.
