DPAA call on Global Gateway for transport

U.S. Air Force Airmen render a final salute to the possible remains of World War II soldiers during a dignified transfer at Ramstein Air Base, June 23. The remains will undergo examination for possible identification by Defense Prisoners of War/Missing in Action Accounting Agency forensic anthropologists. The DPAA’s mission is to provide the fullest possible accounting for our missing personnel to their families and the nation.

Remains are identified at labs at either Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii, or Offutt Air Force Base, Neb. The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency’s mission is to provide the fullest possible accounting for our missing personnel to their families and the nation.
