RMS PTSA meeting
Ramstein Middle School’s PTSA will hold a membership meeting from 3:30 to
4:30 p.m. Thursday in the school’s information center/library. Current and new members are welcome to attend. For more information, contact the PTSA at rams.ptsa@googlemail.com.

RHS SAC
The Ramstein High School School Advisory Committee will meet from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in the RHS information center. The committee’s purpose is to promote an improved educational environment within the school, to be a forum for parents and students to voice issues within the school, and to advise the principal on these matters. Big Band Jazz Plus Dessert
Ramstein High School presents “Big Band Jazz for Dessert” at 7 p.m. May 12 in the RHS great hall. The evening will include Jazz Limited and guest artist from the U.S. Air Forces in Europe Band Staff. Sgt. David Fatek on tenor saxophone. Admission is free and the public is invited.

Commissary parking lot closed
The parking lot at the commissary is closed until the renovation of the Ramstein Commissary is completed in late 2012. There are no more drop-offs or pick-ups for the schools.

Girl Scouts day camp
The KMC Girl Scouts will be holding a week long day camp from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 20 to 24 at Camp Kachina near the Rod And Gun Club on Vogelweh. The cost is $100. E-mail kmccgsdaycamp@gmail.com for a registration form and more information.

Job Shadow Day
Job Shadow Day, also referred to as Take your Sons and Daughters to Work Day, takes place Tuesday. Many units and organizations invited students to visit their facilities. Lunch and Learn at VES
The Vogelweh Elementary School Academic Support Team cordially invites parents of fourth and fifth-grade students to the next Lunch and Learn from 11:30 a.m. to
12:30 p.m. April 28 in the school library.

STAP
The Spouse Tuition Assistance Program is now accepting applications for courses starting May 16 through July 31. The application deadline is April 29. STAP provides up to $300 per term for  spouses of active-duty Air Force members who accompany their sponsor to an overseas location and pursue a contracted on-base degree program. For more information on the STAP program or to apply online, visit https://aiportal.acc.af.mil/STAP.

LEMS concerts
Join Landstuhl Elementary/Middle School for two band concerts this spring. Both concerts will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the LEMS gymnasium, Bldg. 3830. On April 27, the beginning band and intermediate band will play. On May 5, the LEMS choir, jazz band and advanced band will play the final concert of the year. Music from many different genres and styles will be played.

Celebration of Spring
Ramstein High School presents the spring concert “Celebration of Spring” at
7 p.m. May 17 in the RHS gym. The concert will feature Concert Winds and Chamber Ensembles. There will be music from composers such as Saucedo, Grundman, Mozart, Khatchaturian and Balmages. The concert is free and the public is invited.

Scholarship opportunity
The Ramstein PTSO will award four $1,000 scholarships as a way to reward and support the students’ hard work toward higher education. RHS seniors who meet the qualifications are eligible to apply. The application must be turned in to the senior counselor no later than April 22 and the student must sign the turn-in log. The application can be picked up at the guidance center. Winners will be determined by a drawing.
