Pit Stop Program

Join the Rheinland-Pfalz Library on May 19 at 10 a.m. for the PIT STOP Program. Bring your own toy cars for racing.  Car crafts will be made during the event, car stories will be read, and a raffle will take place. Professional mechanics will be at the event. Commanders and Senior Leaders Training

1st Thursday of every month, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. This training is a mandatory requirement within 45 days of assumption of command for all commanders and senior enlisted advisors (E7-E9). Receive information on the Family Advocacy Program, the Exceptional Family Member Program, the Army Substance Abuse Program and the Army Emergency Relief Program and how these programs can benefit Soldiers and their Families. Conversational German

Gain a better understanding of the written and verbal German language. Two levels are offered: German Basics and Intermediate German. All course materials are provided free of charge. Classes run in 8-week semesters. Advance registration is required as these classes often fill up fast. Please contact ACS for class availability, 541-9000; 0611-143-541-9000.

Knitting Classes

Children ages 9 and older are invited to learn the craft of knitting. Children may take classes solo or accompanied by parents. Classes are progressive from beginner to easy, intermediate, and experienced. Learn various stitches, how to read a pattern, binding, seaming, fun historical facts about knitting, and so much more. Classes are offered monthly. All knitting supplies will be provided. Students only need to show up with their desire to learn. Our instructor has 15 years experience in the fiber arts and is a certified knitting instructor through the Craft Yarn Council. Engineering Classes

Children will be introduced to the fundamentals of engineering. Students will have an opportunity to build electrical engines, working draw bridges, fully functioning cranes and basic gear boxes. Students will also be introduced to engineering concepts using pneumatic principles and equipment. All of this is done using the registered brand of Fischertechnik materials. Worksheets will be handed out so that children can expand their understanding of learned concepts outside of the classroom. Theater Instructor Needed

SKIESUnlimited is looking for a theater instructor to teach children and youth about the wonderful world of Theater. We are looking for motivated professionals who have prior experience teaching theater to youth and can develop fun, engaging theater classes as an after school program. Theater Classes

Did you know that children involved with theatrical arts programs outscore their non-arts student peers by an average of 65 points on SAT/ACT tests? Theater provides a safe, secure environment where children learn skill sets including public speaking, coping mechanisms, reading comprehension, verbal/non-verbal communication and more. SKIESUnlimited offers “Intro to Theatre” for ages 5 to 12 and “Shakespeare Scenes” for ages 12 and older. Homework Assistance for Teens

USAG Rheinland-Pfalz Youth Programs provide a homework lab, tutoring and one-on-one homework assistance during Power Hour at the Youth Center, 3 to 4 p.m. on Monday to Friday. Homework contracts are available to clarify direction of help needed and to get the student, Academic Program Manager and parents on the same page for daily or weekly goals and expectations. This is a great resource for youth that need additional help or just a quiet place to focus on their academics.
