Winter chess tournament

Department of Defense Europe East District Schools will host their 5th annual winter chess tournament Jan. 13 at Kaiserslautern Elementary School. Registration will run from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the multi-purpose room (gym). Chess play will start at 10 a.m. and enda at 1 p.m. First and second place finishers will receive trophies at the conclusion of play. There is a $10 entry fee. Stuffed Animal Sleepover

On Jan. 26 and 27, join the Rheinland-Pfalz Library for a Stuffed Animal Sleepover! Come out on Friday, Jan. 26 at 6 p.m. for story time with your favorite stuffed animal. Then tuck them in for their first library sleepover! Come back on Saturday, Jan. 27 from 9 – 11 a.m. to pick up your stuffed animal and enjoy some morning snacks while you look at pictures from their sleepover. Child & Youth Program Assistants Needed

CYS needs additional CYPAs in the Baumholder Military Community in order to expand programing. CYPAs are needed for all age groups. World War I Remembrance Film Series

On the third Wednesday of each month, join Rheinland-Pfalz Library in screening a variety of high quality films chronicling U.S. involvement in Word War I. This makes a great educational family night. Refreshments will be provided. KMC Teen Shuttle

Child and Youth Services offer a KMC Teen Shuttle service. Pick-up/drop-off points are located throughout Vogelweh, Vogelweh Housing, Ramstein, and Landstuhl. ID card, shuttle card and permissions slips are required to ride the shuttle. Take Your Child to the Library is an international initiative that encourages families everywhere to take their children to their local library. Music Together and Caterpillar
Music Classes

SkiesUnlimited is now offering a fun way to introduce your little one to music through specially created programs called Caterpillar Music classes and Music Together classes! Caterpillar Music classes for young children ages 2 to 3 offer a unique introduction to music with exciting themes, colorful instruments and amazing puppets. Music Together is a rich music and movement program for children age 4 to 6 that develops not only music skills, but also skills essential for a well-rounded education. Music develops the child’s mind, body and spirit simultaneously. Clubs Available at Landstuhl School Age Center

Did you know that The Landstuhl School Age Center has several clubs open to students in grades one through five. Weekly clubs include theater, fitness, art, Lego robotics and film.
