Theater Classes

Did you know that children involved with theatrical arts programs outscore their non-arts student peers by an average of 65 points on SAT/ACT tests? Theater provides a safe, secure environment where children learn skill sets including public speaking, coping mechanisms, reading comprehension, verbal/non-verbal communication and more. SKIESUnlimited offers “Intro to Theatre” for ages 5 to 12 and “Shakespeare Scenes” for ages 12 and older. Engineering Classes

Children ages 4+ will be introduced to the fundamentals of engineering. Students will have an opportunity to build electrical engines, working draw-bridges, fully functioning cranes and basic gear boxes. Students will also be introduced to engineering concepts using pneumatic principles and equipment. All of this is done using the registered brand of Fischertechnik materials. Worksheets will be handed out so that children can expand their understanding of learned concepts outside of the classroom. Musical Theatre Dance Classes

Do you love the show-stopping, toe-tapping numbers in a musical? Do you love to express yourself through stories and dance? Then Musical Theatre Dance is for you! SKIESUnlimited offers lessons to youth, ages 5 to 18. The first half of class focuses on a good warm-up and jazz technique, and the second half teaches a routine in the style of musical theatre from your favorite songs and shows. Classes are offered on Pulaski Barracks and Landstuhl. Homework Assistance for Teens

USAG Rheinland-Pfalz Youth Programs provide a homework lab, tutoring and one-on-one homework assistance during Power Hour at the Youth Center, 3 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Homework contracts are available to clarify direction of help needed and to get the student,


Voice Lessons

Children ages 8 to 18 can now learn how to develop a strong, healthy singing voice with SKIESUnlimited Voice Lessons! Private lessons are offered on Pulaski Barracks, Bldg. 2901 and Landstuhl, Bldg.  3819. Participants will be trained on breath control, music theory and vocal techniques. Drum Lessons

Is this your biggest wish — to learn how to play the drums and groove along to your favorite tunes? So here’s your chance to get some professional advice. Each student obtains individual support to achieve his or her personal goals. Step by step, with no pressure, and emphasis on fun! Your child will explore the world of rhythms and cool grooves. Stick control, technique and reading music get explained in a musical context. (Electronic Drum Set used for drum lessons at this time.) Parent and Me Signing Time Class and Workshop:

The overall objective for this class is to provide American Sign Language (ASL) to help parents develop a system of communication with pre verbal and verbally delayed children. Baby sign classes provide parents and children between the ages of 6 months and 3 years old with an opportunity to learn American Sign Language (ASL) in a fun, interactive, and family friendly setting. Participants will have an opportunity to build their ASL vocabulary and gain knowledge of deaf culture. During this class parents will also learn skills to help incorporate ASL into their daily routines when interacting with their preverbal child, allowing children to express his/her needs and reduce frustration. American Sign Language Class and Workshop

This class provides students with an opportunity to learn both the language and culture of the American Deaf community. The class will work on basic receptive and expressive American Sign Language (ASL) vocabulary and grammatical structure, as well as fingerspelling. Upon completion of this class participants will have a vocabulary of about 100 words in ASL. Following completion participants will have the opportunity to advance to intermediate class which focuses on conversational skills and more in-depth reception skills.
