European Army Reserves to change name, patch, mission

A reflagging ceremony, retiring the colors of the 7th Army Reserve Command and activating the 7th Civil Support Command colors, is scheduled for 1 p.m. Oct. 25 at the Daenner Parade Field on Daenner Kaserne in Kaiserslautern.

The 7th CSC has undergone a massive transformation from an administrative command to a fully operational and deployable civil support command. In the upcoming weeks, the command will continue to grow its forces and restructure to better meet the needs of today’s contingency requirements.

The mission of the newly reflagged command is to provide trained and ready, forward-stationed foreign consequence management command and control capabilities, civil support teams and civil affairs forces in support of U.S. Army Europe and U.S. Army Africa. The 7th CSC also provides Title 10, U.S. Code responsibilities, and on order, mobilizes and deploys European-based U.S. Army Reserve units. The transformation ensures the 7th CSC remains a relevant, ready and responsive expeditionary force strategically positioned and postured for the future.

In case of inclement weather, the reflagging ceremony will be held at the Kleber Gym.
