Berglangenbach, a village in the Baumholder Union Community, sponsors its eighth farmers and arts and crafts market Sunday.

***image2***From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. regional farmers and vendors present their products and merchandise such as potatoes, onions, corn, wurst, marmelade, mustard, oil, vinegar, cheese, honey, juices, tea, coffee, wine, pasta, schnaps and liquor.

Artists present their handcrafted items including ceramics, jewelry, knitted clothes, greeting cards, wooden items, candles, table cloths, table decorations, hats and purses.

***image1***Craftsmen – smiths, masons, turners, basket makers – demonstrate their skills. Historical machines can be admired. An old potato steamer cooks potatoes, which then will be served with an herb dip. A vintage tractor show and historical carriage also lure the visitors’ interest. The animal show presents farm animals, rabbits, horses, donkeys and birds of prey. Children can ride ponies or a merry-go-round.

The market offers all kinds of food specialties: fish brötchen, fried potatoes, egg rolls, gyros, steaks, plum cake, waffles and cakes.

Regional music associations provide the musical entertainment. To get to Berglangenbach, take A62 north to Freisen, then L133 direction Baumholder, which turns into L384 direction Berschweiler/Fohren-Linden. Turn left twice until getting to L347. A few kilometers after Fohren-Linden, a sign shows the way to the farmers market.
