Fasching Fantastic ’07


Altweiberfasching
Citizens from across the KMC joined German friends in kicking off Fasching Feb. 15 with Altweiberfasching, or “Old Women’s Fasching.” Among other things, women were free to cut men’s ties and cut in during dances.

Rose Monday
The world-famous Rosenmontag parade in the Rheinland-Pfalz capital city of Mainz attracted a half-million visitors, who thronged the streets and sidewalks to watch floats and marchers roll by. Many Americans joined in the festivities.

Fasching
U.S. marchers and spectators were everywhere during Ramstein-Miesenbach’s Fasching parade Tuesday. More than 52,000 spectators crowded into the small village to help celebrate the last day before the start of the Lenten season.
