***image1***More than 50 farmers and vendors will present their products and items at the traditional Hitscherhof farm fest 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Fresh agricultural products offered by regional farmers include meat, cheese, wurst, bread, eggs, noodles, vegetables, fruit, wine and juices.

The annual event also features a creative market with art and craft vendors displaying a variety of items such as jewelry, pottery, paintings, teddy bears, dolls, ceramic items, wood carvings, nativity scenes, candles, garden accessories, music instruments, dried flowers, postcards and antique furniture.

“We are holding our farm fest for the 10th time,” said Daniel Fischer, Hitscherhof owner. “As a special attraction we have giant pumpkins which we planted and raised.”

Since the farm specializes in corn and pumpkins, food specialties visitors can taste include pumpkin soup and corn on the cob. There also will be schwenksteaks, bratwurst and “Flammkuchen,” which is like a thin pizza covered with bacon, onions and sour cream. For those liking sweet food waffles and cakes will be available for sale.

“Like each year, children can enjoy a walk through the corn maze or play in a straw pile,” said Mr. Fischer. A hairdresser will be available to paint children’s faces.

Hitscherhof is located between Thaleischweiler and Rieschweiler. Take autobahn A62 from Landstuhl south to the Thaleischweiler-Fröschen exit. After exiting, go west toward Rieschweiler and before reaching Rieschweiler, turn right to Hitscherhof.
