Child supervision: children under 10 cannot be left unattended

How often have you thought, “I’ll just be in the store a minute,” or “I’m just going to check the mail,” leaving the kids in the car while you made that quick stop? If those children are under 10 years old, then that may constitute a violation of KMC policy on Child Supervision. According to the policy, children under the age of 10 cannot be left unattended in quarters or in a parked car for any length of time. It also outlines other standards for supervision of children in the KMC. Ask your first sergeant or contact Family Advocacy for more information. And, think twice before you make that “quick stop.”
