First Sergeants’ Diamond Sharp Award

***image1***Have you ever walked into a room and seen a professional? The answer to that question should be an automatic “YES.”

We do it every day and we just take it for granted.  Our Air Force is made up of many professionals that are actively engaged within many different career fields throughout every installation. Just recently, the first sergeants brought back an award recognition process to the KMC. This award is called the Diamond Sharp and it represents the title to the full extent.

The intent of the award is to recognize individuals that demonstrate outstanding performance and professionalism on a daily basis. They are the Airmen that come to work early and leave late. They’re full of energy and are capable of acting or reacting strongly to any situation. They’re the outstanding specialists who wear their uniform proudly and represent our Core Values every day.

They give off a sudden brilliant display of light in their duties, family life and community involvement. They are Diamond Sharp. You can’t do anything to prepare for this award; you just have to be ready every day because first sergeants are always looking to recognize the best and brightest performers.

Ask yourself: “Am I up for the challenge?”  I would easily answer, “Yes, you are … because you’re a professional, always, everyday!”
