Friendship association offers German language classes

The German-American Friendship Association Siegelbach starts its first semester German classes in February.

“For 20 years, the German-American Friendship Association Siegelbach tries to improve the friendship between the two nations and create a mutual understanding,” said Erhard Weber, president of GAFAS. “We offer German classes for beginners and advanced students twice a year.”

Besides having the chance to learn the German language, participants of the classes will learn a lot about the German culture and traditions. They will be able to make friends and participate in activities such as hikes, bike tours and trips.

All German classes take place in the Siegelbach Hauptschule.
They meet as follows:
Beginners’ classes:
6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays; Feb. 7 to June 13
6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursdays; Feb. 2 to May 18
7 to 8:30 p.m. Fridays; Feb. 3 to May 26

Intensive beginners class:
6 to 8 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays; Feb. 6 to June 21
Advanced classes (intensive):
8 to 9:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays; Feb. 6 to June 21

Advanced classes:
8 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesdays; Feb. 7 to June 13
8 to 9:30 p.m. Thursdays; Feb. 2 to May 18

The intensive classes meet twice a week and costs €130. Classes meeting once a week cost €65. Books cost about an additional €35.
