The German-American Community Office will be part of the Christmas market Thursday in the center of Kaiserslautern. GACO employees will present a stage program with American music groups, singers and dancers, including the U.S. Air Forces in Europe Band.

“Like each year, we want to present a fine program highlighting American performers,” said GACO member Sissi Kösling. “Right after last year’s Christmas market, participants contacted us to make sure we schedule them again for this year.”

Traditionally, an ensemble of the USAFE Band will be one of the highlights.
“The German spectators love the USAFE Band since they do not often have the chance to see them,” Kösling said.

Performances on the stage at Schillerplatz will begin at noon and run until 2 p.m. Then there will be a two hour break before the program continues from 4 to 9 p.m.
The Ramstein Officers’ Spouses Club will send a Santa Claus who will pass out candy canes to children and welcome visitors.

ROSC and the German-American and International Women’s Club Kaiserslautern will sponsor the candy.

GACO is a joint initiative by the City of Kaiserslautern and the KMC, which serves as an international drop-in point for German and American citizens. It also provides information on host nation policies, including, among others, pet and recycling regulations.

Newly arrived military members can join a newcomers’ tour that stops at the GACO and receive the full spectrum of information to help them settle quickly in the local area.
