Garden fair offers variety of flower shows

***image1***The Garden Fair Kaiserslautern will open its doors again in spring. The event, which is taking place for the fifth time, runs from April 8 through Oct. 3.
The Garden Fair Company Kaiserslautern recently scheduled a variety of flower shows to be set up in its flower hall.
“This year, the emphasis of the flower shows is based on ideas for private gardens,” said Thomas Zinssmeister, manager of the Garden Fair Company.
“This time, our own staff will arrange four of the eight shows. We try to minimize the cost and only give four presentations to commercial gardenings.”
The opening show in the flower hall runs under the motto “Rainbow Dream” and displays spring flowers April 8 to 25.
The next show, “Garden Scenery,” takes place April 30 to May 23. It gives ideas for gardens with water, lawn furniture and terracotta items (baked clay).
Ceramic artists from the Kaiserslautern area present their works in combination with flowers May 28 to June 20. The show is called “Earth Smell.”
Visitors will enjoy a walk through “Fairy Tale Country” June 25 to July 11. Several famous fairy tales will be presented in a floral way with typical plants.
From July 16 to Aug. 1, the exhibition “A Feast for the Eyes” displays table decorations.
Paintings decorated with blooming flowers and plants are the center of attention during the “Flower Picture” display Aug. 6 to 22.
Like in previous years, orchids of all colors and shapes will be presented in the “Orchid World” Aug. 27 to Sept. 12.
The last show for this season presents an “Idyllic Forest Scenery” Sept. 17 through Oct. 3. Visitors feel like walking right into fall.
