A variety of ghosts are scheduled to scare participants in the horror hike Saturday in Breunigweiler.

The Pfrimmtal Touristik Association will sponsor its traditional spooky Halloween event Oct. 24 in Breunigweiler. A variety of animals including giant spiders and bats as well as ghosts, witches, monsters and bandits will be up to mischief and scaring participants during the spooky hike.

The horror event will take place from 6:30 to 11 p.m. The entry to “Spooky Horror World” will be at the sports field in Breunigweiler.

“Visitors will start their hike in small groups at 6:30 p.m. and every five minutes a new group will follow,” said Albert Koch from the PFT association. “Sturdy shoes and the love of adventure are good requirements for the two-kilometer-long route.”

This year, the horror trip leads to the center of Breunigweiler, which will turn into a giant horror arena decorated with blood-thirsty accessories and typical Halloween items.

After the horror trip, participants have the opportunity to meet in various yards of the village to talk about their experiences.

“Here, hikers can recuperate from scary moments and enjoy a social get-together in a spooky atmosphere,” Koch said.

The hike is at your own risk and not appropriate for children under 12. The route will be lit, so no flashlights are needed. Dogs are not allowed.

“We had more than 2,000 visitors joining our horror event and hope to even lure more this year,” Koch said.

Interested participants should buy tickets in advance for the specific time frame in which they would like to start their hike to avoid long waiting times. Tickets are available for €6 at Pfrimm-tal Touristik, Muehlbach-weg 1, 67725 Breunig-weiler, north of Alsenborn. For reservations, email info@pfrimmtaltouristik.de, call 06357-5230 between 4:30 and 7 p.m., or call Albert Koch at 0152-3708-4509.

Remaining tickets will be available at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 24 at the door. For more information, visit www.pfrimmtaltouristik.de.
