The Kaiserslautern Raiders varsity team defeated the Heidelberg Lions at Heidelberg, 56-52, Feb. 11. The Raiders had to go to overtime to pull out the victory against the Lions. Quintin Strawder led the charge with 19 points. Aaron Ellis had 13 points, and Julian Smalls had 12 points. On Saturday, the Raiders downed the Lakenheath Lancers, 64-31, at home. Quintin Strawder led the way with 14 points. Julian Smalls had 13, and Jamal Anene had 12. Clinton Robinson III had 8 assists; Chris Ferguson 7 steals. Aaron Ellis had 10 rebounds and Brian Hill had 7 rebounds.

Ramstein 65, Bitburg 45
Ramstein 72, Bison 46
The Ramstein Royals varsity team finished the regular season this weekend. They defeated the Bitburg Barons, 65-45 Feb. 11. Brennon Relaford and Eric Murray, 15 and 11 points, played strong for the Royals and Allen Weaver chipped in 15 and Whitney McCloud had 12. On Saturday, the Royals defeated Mannheim Bison, 72-46.

Kaiserslautern 54, Heidelberg 65
Kaiserslautern 25, Lakenheath 21
The Kaiserslautern Raiders junior varsity team lost a hard-fought game against the Heidelberg Lions, 65-54, Feb. 11 at Heidelberg. Then, they turned right around Saturday and beat Lakenheath Lancers, 25-21, at home.

Kaiserslautern 42, Heidelberg 32
Kaiserslautern 42, Lakenheath 27
This past weekend, the Kaiserslautern Lady Raiders varsity team conquered two conference foes to take the lead in Division I. Anisha Ingram and Bianca Gerena-Perez, each with 14 points, led K-Town to a 42-32 victory over Heidelberg Feb. 11 at home. Gerena-Perez had 11 rebounds and Dekia Moore chipped in 8 rebounds. On Saturday, the Lady Raiders cruised to a 42-27 victory over Lakenheath at home. Lynndsey Hyter led the way with 10 points and 7 rebounds. Tasha Warner and Moore also had 7 rebounds. Gerena-Perez owned the glass with 17 rebounds. Dupe Babatunde and Shondrika Harvey anchored the K-Town defense and shut down the Lancers’ best player in the second half.

Ramstein 39, Bitburg 8
Ramstein 56, Mannheim 48
The Ramstein Lady Royals varsity team squashed Bitburg, 39-8, Feb. 11 at Bitburg. Leading scorers were Krissy Grosselin with 12 and Heather Steele with 7. Crystal Richardson had 6 rebounds. On Saturday, the women finished out regular season play with a win against Mannheim, 56-48, at Mannheim. Kaylen Bannister led the scoring with 16 followed by Grosselin with 14 and Corrine Lauture with 11. Bannister also had 11 rebounds and 3 blocked shots.

Kaiserslautern 28, Heidelberg 21
Kaiserslautern 31, Lakenheath 22
The Kaiserslautern Lady Raiders junior varsity team wrapped up a pair of victories. On Feb. 11, they beat Heidelberg, 28-21, at Heidelberg. Leading the way for the Lady Raiders was Liana Knight with 10 points, Teena Robinson with 7 points and Alycia Mixon with 6 points. On Saturday, they beat Lakenheath, 31-22, at home. Knight and Robinson once again led with 13 and 12 points respectively.

Wrestling
Ramstein hosted the Western Region Tourney Saturday to see who moves on to the European Championships to be held today and Saturday at the Army Airfield Fitness Center in Wiesbaden. The Ramstein Royals had 18 wrestlers make it into the finals to compete for a first or second place in the 14-weight class tournament. They have three undefeated wrestlers going to the Europeans – Coty Reinhart at 135, Cole Maxey at 215 and Noah Sheppard at 125. Other first place winners were Trey Fortunato at 103, Karl Saucier at 145, Logan Rainforth at 152 and James Horst for heavyweight. Kaiserslautern Raider Madison Hayes moves on as 171-pound champion. Kaiserslautern’s wild card entries are Stephen Gillespie at 103, Harrison Hayes at 119, Jamie Jung at 125 and Troy Price at 275.
