Girls’ softball
The Ramstein Lady Royals split a two-game series with the Kaiserslautern Lady Raiders Saturday, losing 2-1 and then winning the second game 9-2. It marks the first ever win by K-Town over the Royals. Victoria Apodaca struck out nine and gave up one hit in the 2-1 loss. Jessica Apodaca got her third win in the second game behind the hitting of Ashley Vossmer, 2-2 with a double, triple. V. Apodaca was 3-4 and Theresa Brooks continued her hot streak going 3-4.

Girls’ soccer
The Ramstein Lady Royals defeated the Heidelberg Lady General 4-1 Saturday with a strong defensive effort. Sarah Moore led the way with two goals, Mari Shakir scored one and Dorothy Stern had a goal and an assist. Ramstein goalie Dallas Norman had a strong showing in the net, allowing only one goal.

Boys’ soccer
The Ramstein Royals suffered their first loss of the season during a home game against Heidelberg Saturday. Ramstein couldn’t manage to score a goal and was shut out 2-0.

Track and field
The Ramstein Royals boys and girls track teams each won their meet at Hanau Saturday. The boys meet was highlighted by Parker Cowles who took first in the 1,500 and 3,000 meter runs. The girls were led by Krissy Grosselin who placed first in the 800 meter run and the long jump.

The Kaiserslautern Raiders girls team won and the boys team placed second in their respective meets in Mannheim Saturday. The boys team was led by Jamal Anene who finished first in the 800 and 1500 meter runs. The girls’ team won on a dominating performance by Lynndsey Hyter. Hyter took first in the 200 meter run, the 300 meter hurdles and claimed a school record with a long jump of 17’ 4 3/4”.

Basketball
The high school basketball All-Europe teams were selected recently. For the boys team Ramstein junior guard Allen Weaver, Ramstein senior center Brennon Relaford and Kaiserslautern junior guard were selected to the first team. For the girls team Ramstein senior guard Krissy Grosselin and Kaiserslautern junior center Bianca Gerena-Perez were selected to the first team and Ramstein sophomore center Kaylen Bannister was selected to the second team.
