Headquarters United States Air Forces in Europe moved from Lindsey Air Station, Wiesbaden, to Ramstein Air Base March 14, 1973, five decades ago. This step was to enhance USAFE’s response to crisis or war with NATO’s Fourth Allied Tactical Air Force which was also located at Ramstein Air Base at that time.Courtesy photo
