Hochspeyer celebrates a street fest under the motto, “Our home town Hochspeyer is living,” Saturday. Motorized traffic is not allowed on Hauptstrasse, which turns into a fest area from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. The closure of the main street is between the traffic light and the driveway to Penny-Markt (Hauptrasse 35).

More sports activities can be watched on a fitness route, and a volleyball and basketball field.

Hochspeyer’s sister city, Leutenberg, in the east part of Germany brings a mobile kegel alley and two boule alleys. There are little flea markets along the route, book sales, wood carvings and a display of nativity scenes.

Another highlight is the vintage vehicle show. Children can enjoy pony riding, experience a teepee tent and take a ride on a chairoplane. The band Favorits, as well as local music clubs, provide the musical entertainment. Local hosts and associations offer Palatinate and international food specialties.

Businesses and stores of Hochspeyer show who they are and what they have to offer. Hochspeyer is located east of  Kaiserslautern; it’s the village right after passing Panzer Kaserne.
