ON-BASE DISPOSAL OF LIGHT FRACTIONS “YELLOW BAGS”

Townhouse residents must use yellow bags for all their recyclable light packaging. These yellow bags are for items like plastics, foils, milk cartons, and metals, but remember, NO glass, shoes, paper, or spray cans! On-base townhouse residents can pick up free yellow bags at the Self-Help Store during their regular hours: Monday – Friday from 10:00-18:00 and Saturday from 10:00-16:00, while those in local economy housing can get theirs from their local recycling center.

A helpful tip for townhouse residents: keep your yellow bags inside until pickup day to avoid any weather or animal damage. For added convenience, free Recycle Bag Holders are available at the Self-Help Store. On-base residents looking for more information can refer to their “Reduce, Reuse & Recycle Booklet” or visit the KMC Housing Office Facilities Section on Kapaun for a replacement.
