How easy is VAT?

The Landstuhl VAT Office offers a value added tax form pick-up service designed especially for busy employees who can purchase VAT forms while wearing their scrub greens and never having to leave the hospital. It’s as easy as sending an e-mail on Monday and picking up the form on Tuesday.

“It’s a really good service that unfortunately is not getting many takers,” said Victoria Silva, VAT office financial assistant. “I’m still getting feedback that many people don’t know Landstuhl has its own VAT office.”

The process begins with an e-mail sent to mail.kln.mwrkvat@eur.army.mil. The e-mail request must be an official, Department of Defense e-mail (for example, not from a Yahoo or Hotmail account) and must include how many forms you need and the last four numbers of your social security number. E-mails must be sent no later than noon on Mondays. There is a limit of 10 VAT forms per purchase.

Requested VAT forms will be available for pick-up between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesdays at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center coffee shop, Il Cappuccino. You must provide an ID card, and exact cash or check payments are required.

You can also visit the Landstuhl VAT Office in Bldg. 3701. Hours of operation are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The office is closed on U.S. federal holidays. For more information, call Victoria Silva at 486-1780.
